Our story
It started with a baby shower for a cousin.

Sherri Purcell started Sherri’s Heavenly Balloons in January 2020, out of her Indianapolis home, in the months after her mother died.
I lost my joy when my mom passed away… I did a baby shower for my cousin, and I saw what smiles it brought… it was like, ‘here, let me give you a piece of something I don’t have.’
Six years on, it is still the same idea. We build arches, garlands, columns and backdrops by hand, on site, sized to the room they are going in — for graduations and showers and retirements and grand openings.
We match your colors rather than ours. School colors, team colors, the shade of the bridesmaid dresses. There are seventy-one colors in stock across matte, standard, pearl, crystal and chrome finishes, and if the one you want is not among them we will tell you honestly rather than substitute something close.
Celebrations of life
Balloons belong at the hard days too.
Most decorators only work parties. We also build for memorial services, celebrations of life, and the anniversaries families keep quietly — in the colors the person loved, at whatever scale feels right.
This is not a sideline. It is the reason there is a business at all, and we do not treat one of these like a party. Usually it is one arrangement in the right colors, placed where people will gather — beside a photograph, at the door, at the front of a room. Sometimes it is a release. Sometimes it is a single column that the grandchildren helped choose.
